About This Game Super Rude Bear Resurrection is an ultra-tight, masocore platformer that anyone can beat! Nothing to keep me here so I can't recommending going out of your way to get it.. 1. It is kinda reductive to call this a Super Meat Boy clone but, let's face it, that's what it is. It's done well though.2. Credits roll on this after seven, five stage levels. I couldn't find this info anywhere so I figured someone might want to know.3. One of the coolest thing about this game's most obvious influence is it rewards you for dying by showing you all your previous failed attempts all at once. Super Rude Bear Resurrection does something similar and it's maybe even cooler. Every time you die, your corpse covers up some bit of spikes, removes and obstacle or otherwise makes your life a bit easier on your next attempt. 4. The controls here are kind of weird. Jumps seem to lack weight and impact. It seems a bit sketchy at first but as you get used to it, it gives the game a bit of a unique flow. I hated the controls to start but liked them by the end. Keep at it a minute if you are turned off at first and you might be surprised. 5. This game bills itself as "masocore" but I'd say that's a bit extreme. Maybe I am splitting hairs but masocore typically means hidden blocks, blind jumps and other dirty tricks. This is designed such that you can nearly always see what you need to do, it's just hard. 6. For some reason, the screen tilts and pans all over the place when you run by default. You can turn this off.7. In other annoying news, you are followed by a little bat or fairy that's supposed to be funny. Fortunately, what he says flashes up so fast you can never read it.8. I am not too keen on Flash-style graphics but these work well enough, I suppose. You can see what's going on and it is always pretty obvious what can kill you. 8. The music is more the focus here. It's electronic music in the trap vein and it's pretty good. If nothing else, it is refreshingly different to run into that kind of music in a video game. 9. Most of the replayability here comes from the fact that the game is really hard. It is not exactly a breeze to get through dying as much as you want and leaving a padded runway of corpses for you to walk to victory but beating it w/o the corpses or w/o dying at all, well, most people are gonna have a hell of a time w/ that. 10. There are some odd difficulty spikes here and there. I felt like the second to the last boss was probably the hardest part of the game, for example. 11. No big deal. 12. For every session, if you die a certain number of times on a particular level, it makes you watch a little clip scene suggesting you try earlier levels on a harder difficulty to practice. This would be fine if it only happened once but every time you start the game is too much. 13. End of the day, this is a fun game to play. It's satisfyingly tough at the minimum and you can make it much harder than you want. It's the kind of thing you can crank your way through in a weekend if you just want to check it out or you can spend dozens of hours speedrunning and trying to crack harder difficulties. If you like platformers, go for it.. If you're looking for a super meat boy like game, get that. The corpse usage just feels more like cheating than anything else.Soundtrack is awful, controls eh, theme and humour are trying too hard and don't work.. Mildly entertaining got old pretty quickly.. Great looking game. Love the concept of corpses making it easier to progress. However, the controls were horrid. Extremely touchy. The jump while sliding down a wall is horrible and makes the game unplayable from the get go.. One of those really really hard platformers. You'll die a couple hundred times throughout the game, but fortunatly your corpses persist after death, so things get a little easier the more you die in a particular section, because you can (for instance) plug up all the pointy spikes with dead versions of you. It's otherwise a mix of features to keep it interesting, some areas are about precision, some are about moving quickly, some are physicy-based puzzles - but you're going to die in droves in all of them, and that's alright too.Essentially Super Meat Boy on steriods.
